Leonide Leon, aka Nuni, was laid to rest today. We met when I was 16, and whenever she saw me, she’d open her arms and say, “DEEE” in the sweetest voice. If it takes a village to raise a child were a person, Nuni was the mascot. She was everyone’s grandma.

Nuni gave the best hugs; they were the ones you ran to. Her hugs made you melt and made you feel warm and safe…
